New & Revitalized Congregational Development's
Investment Grows the Kingdom

/files/Images Folder/NRCDWorshipSS.jpgNew and Revitalized Congregational Development (NRCD) is a vital ministry of The South Georgia Conference. New church plants like Harvest Church in Byron, The Chapel Brunswick and The Pointe in Leesburg have helped to boost attendance by approximately 5,000 worshippers each week.

“Helping people grow in their faith and developing places of worship where they can feel comfortable becomes increasingly important as the Hispanic population continues to grow,” said Karen Hahn, assistant director of development and communications for NRCD. “Revitalizing congregations is another key element of our ministry. We seek to help churches that are in a downward trend to refocus and rethink their core values.”

After receiving a $30,000+ donation from one of its partners in ministry, NRCD purchased a four-year investment certificate from the Georgia United Methodist Foundation’s Development Fund.

“The Foundation had very favorable rates. The better return we can get on our investment, the more financial resources we have available to help the local church,” said Hahn. “We also like the fact that we are investing in The United Methodist Church. Because of this investment, the Foundation has funds available that churches can borrow. We are all part of growing the kingdom together.”
