Gift Supports New South Georgia Conference Center

During the 2010 South Georgia Annual Conference Session, the Georgia United Methodist Foundation presented Bishop James R. King, Jr. with a $15,000 gift to help support the construction of a new South Georgia Conference Center.

Kermit Griner, vice chairman of the Georgia United Methodist Foundation, explained, "This is just one way the Foundation is helping build God's Kingdom. The North and South Georgia conferences will continue to benefit when churches and individuals partner with the Foundation."

When complete, the 10,600-square-foot Conference Center will be located on the grounds of Wesleyan College in Macon.  The projected cost to build the center is $2,900,000.

"The South Georgia Conference is grateful to the Georgia United Methodist Foundation for their thoughtful gift of $15,000 toward the construction of our new Conference Center," said Dr. Hal Brady, chairman of the Conference Office Task Force.
